Until now we've been using "OwnID" to allow you to add biometric logins to your ElfHosted store account, but this has been troublesome / limiting in some cases, and doesn't provide two-factor auth (2FA), just different-factor auth (plus it doesn't always work across all devices).

From this week, we've implemented a more robust 2FA system, which is going to replace the OwnID plugin at the end of the month. It's optional but recommended - enable 2FA support on your account here to increase the security of your ElfStash!

The 2FA system can support TOTP auth (the classic "authenticator app" flow), and also passkeys, so you can achieve the same as the OwnID plugin, and login to your ElfHosted account with just your on-device passkey (for devices which support this).
