AudioBook Bay search-and-grab UI — find audiobooks, send the magnet to your torrent client or Decypharr.
A managed AudioBookBay Automated instance hosted on ElfHosted. Search AudioBook Bay through a clean web UI and send magnet links straight to your preferred download client — Deluge, qBittorrent, Transmission, or Decypharr via its qBit-compatible API for Real-Debrid streaming. Drops finished audiobooks into Audiobookshelf‘s watched folder. Bring your own torrent client or RD subscription.
The fastest way to go from "saw a recommendation on Reddit" to "audiobook playing in Audiobookshelf" — without manually copying magnet links between three browser tabs.
What is AudioBookBay Automated?
AudioBookBay Automated (ABBA) is a self-hosted search front-end for AudioBook Bay — the long-running audiobook tracker. Type a title, ABBA scrapes AudioBook Bay's listings, you click "send", and the magnet link goes straight to your configured download client. No manual copy-paste, no opening AudioBook Bay in another tab, no fiddling with web seeds.
The download client can be a traditional torrent client (Deluge, qBittorrent, Transmission) — files actually download to your storage — or Decypharr using its qBittorrent-compatible API, which routes the magnet through Real-Debrid for stream-in-place via WebDAV.
Key Features
- 🔎 AudioBook Bay search: direct search of AudioBook Bay's listings from a clean web UI; covers, sizes, seeder counts visible at a glance.
- 🧲 One-click send: magnet links go directly to Deluge, qBittorrent, Transmission, or Decypharr — no copy-paste, no extra steps.
- ☁️ Real-Debrid via Decypharr: point ABBA at Decypharr using the qBit-API shim and audiobooks stream through Real-Debrid instead of downloading locally.
- 🎧 Audiobookshelf-friendly: drops finished audiobooks into the folder Audiobookshelf scans — the audiobook appears in the player automatically.
- 📋 Request log: see what's been sent and what's downloading. No more guessing what got grabbed yesterday.
- 🔄 Updates handled: ElfHosted keeps ABBA current.
AudioBookBay Automated vs AudioBookRequest
Two audiobook automation tools that solve overlapping problems differently:
- AudioBookBay Automated (this product) — AudioBook Bay-specific. Single source, direct magnet send, very fast workflow. No request approval — what you click, you get.
- AudioBookRequest — Audible-search front-end that drives Prowlarr through any indexers Prowlarr is configured for. Multi-user with approvals. Better for households where multiple people request titles.
Pick ABBA if you're the only person grabbing audiobooks and AudioBook Bay is your primary source. Pick AudioBookRequest for multi-user households or if you want Prowlarr-managed multi-indexer coverage.
Why Run AudioBookBay Automated on ElfHosted?
ABBA is a small Python app — easy to self-host, but only useful as part of a working stack with a download client and a media server. ElfHosted runs all the moving parts on one backend with shared storage:
- Pre-wired connection to your ElfHosted Decypharr (or whichever torrent client you run).
- Output drops directly into the folder your ElfHosted Audiobookshelf watches.
- HTTPS on your own ElfHosted subdomain.
- SSO on the web UI.
- Updates roll out without you touching anything.

Frequently Asked Questions
How do I run AudioBookBay Automated without self-hosting it?
Add it to your ElfHosted subscription — this is a managed instance pre-wired to your ElfHosted download client and Audiobookshelf. No Docker, no API-key plumbing.
Do I need a torrent client?
Yes — ABBA sends magnet links somewhere. Either a traditional torrent client (Deluge/qBittorrent/Transmission) for files-on-storage, or Decypharr for Real-Debrid stream-in-place. ElfHosted offers both.
How does this differ from AudioBookRequest?
ABBA is AudioBook Bay-specific with direct magnet send. AudioBookRequest drives Prowlarr across multiple indexers, with multi-user request approval. ABBA is faster for solo users on AudioBook Bay; AudioBookRequest is better for households and multi-indexer coverage.
Can I use Real-Debrid instead of downloading files?
Yes. Point ABBA at your Decypharr instance using the qBittorrent-compatible API, and audiobooks stream through Real-Debrid instead of downloading locally — saves storage and bandwidth.
Where do finished audiobooks play?
In Audiobookshelf, typically. ABBA drops files into a folder Audiobookshelf scans; the audiobook appears in the player automatically.
Does this need an AudioBook Bay account?
No. ABBA scrapes the public listings — no login required.
