AudioBook Bay search UI purpose-built for Real-Debrid — send magnets to Decypharr, stream immediately, zero local storage consumed.
A managed AudioBookBay Downloader instance hosted on ElfHosted. Search AudioBook Bay, send magnet links to Decypharr, and stream the audiobook through Real-Debrid immediately — no waiting for a torrent to finish, no local storage consumed. Symlink-based architecture means your Audiobookshelf library fills up without filling up your storage. Optionally offload finished files to rclone-mounted cloud for long-term retention.
The AudioBook Bay workflow for Real-Debrid users: search, click, stream. No torrent download, no storage headache, no waiting.
What is AudioBookBay Downloader?
AudioBookBay Downloader is a self-hosted front-end for AudioBook Bay that's purpose-built for the Decypharr / Real-Debrid backend. Search AudioBook Bay, click to send the magnet to Decypharr, and Decypharr resolves it via Real-Debrid — the audiobook is streamable in Audiobookshelf within seconds, without downloading anything locally.
The storage model uses symlinks: Decypharr creates a symlink pointing at the Real-Debrid stream. Your Audiobookshelf library fills up and works normally, but your local storage usage stays near zero. If you want the file long-term — past Real-Debrid's cache window — you can optionally trigger a full copy to rclone-mounted cloud storage.
Key Features
- 🔎 AudioBook Bay search: search AudioBook Bay listings from a clean web UI — covers, file sizes, and seeder info visible without opening AudioBook Bay directly.
- 🧲 Decypharr integration: magnets go to Decypharr, which resolves them via Real-Debrid. Streamable immediately, no torrent queue to wait on.
- ⚡ Symlink-based zero-storage model: Decypharr creates symlinks for resolved content — your Audiobookshelf library works normally but local storage consumption is minimal.
- ☁️ Optional rclone offload: want permanent copies? Trigger a full file transfer to rclone-mounted cloud storage (Google Drive, S3, B2, etc.) when you decide to keep something long-term.
- 🎧 Audiobookshelf-friendly: symlinks appear in Audiobookshelf's watched folder; the audiobook plays immediately without waiting for a download.
- 🔄 Updates handled: ElfHosted keeps AudioBookBay Downloader current.
AudioBookBay Downloader vs AudioBookBay Automated
Both front-ends search AudioBook Bay. The difference is the backend:
- AudioBookBay Downloader (this product) — Real-Debrid-only. Decypharr backend, symlink model, stream immediately, zero storage. Requires a Real-Debrid subscription.
- AudioBookBay Automated — supports any torrent client (Deluge, qBittorrent, Transmission, or Decypharr). Files actually download. Better for users who want traditional torrent-to-storage workflows or who don't use Real-Debrid.
If you're a Real-Debrid user who wants instant streaming with zero storage consumption, pick AudioBookBay Downloader. If you want files on disk (or flexibility over which client handles them), pick AudioBookBay Automated.
Why Run AudioBookBay Downloader on ElfHosted?
The symlink-based model requires tight integration between AudioBookBay Downloader, Decypharr, and Audiobookshelf — they need to share the same filesystem so symlinks resolve correctly. ElfHosted runs all three on the same backend with shared storage:
- Pre-wired to your ElfHosted Decypharr — symlinks resolve immediately, no path mapping.
- Symlinks appear directly in your ElfHosted Audiobookshelf's watched folder.
- rclone-mounted cloud buckets available for optional long-term offload.
- HTTPS on your own ElfHosted subdomain.
- Updates roll out without you touching anything.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need a Real-Debrid subscription?
Yes. AudioBookBay Downloader routes magnets through Decypharr, which resolves them via Real-Debrid. Without a Real-Debrid subscription, Decypharr has nothing to resolve against. If you don't use Real-Debrid, use AudioBookBay Automated with a traditional torrent client instead.
How does the symlink model work in practice?
When you send a magnet to Decypharr, it resolves the audiobook via Real-Debrid and creates a symlink in your shared storage. Audiobookshelf sees the symlink as a normal file and plays it immediately. No storage is consumed for the audiobook content itself — it streams from Real-Debrid's servers. If you want a permanent local copy (past RD's cache), you trigger an rclone copy to your cloud bucket.
What if Real-Debrid drops the content from its cache?
The symlink will stop resolving and the audiobook will stop playing. For long-term retention, always offload to rclone-mounted cloud storage after adding something you want to keep permanently.
How does this differ from AudioBookBay Automated?
AudioBookBay Automated sends magnets to any torrent client (files actually download). AudioBookBay Downloader is Real-Debrid only — stream immediately, zero storage, via Decypharr symlinks.
Where do audiobooks play?
In Audiobookshelf — the symlinks appear in Audiobookshelf's watched folder and it sees them as normal audiobook files.
