Posteria
$9.00 / month with a 7-day free trial and a $1.00 sign-up fee
Curate the posters in your Plex library without ever touching a database, a file share, or a metadata refresh.
Meet Your Plex Poster Wrangler
Posteria is a tidy web app for managing the artwork in your Plex library: movies, TV shows, seasons, and collections. Pull your existing posters out of Plex, swap them for custom uploads or artwork from TMDB, TVDB, and Fanart.tv, and Posteria pushes your choices back to Plex and locks them so the next metadata refresh doesn't undo your work.
Built by Jereme Hancock with an app-like UI that installs as a PWA on your phone or desktop, Posteria treats Plex as the source of truth and gives you one place to curate, browse, and search your library artwork.
Why Posteria Makes Life Easier
- Swap any poster in seconds: local files, direct URLs, or fresh art from TMDB, TVDB, and Fanart.tv.
- Your poster picks are locked in Plex automatically, so Plex's scheduled metadata refreshes stop fighting you.
- Auto Import runs on a schedule (every 1, 3, 6, 12, or 24 hours), so new movies and shows pick up your preferred posters without you lifting a finger.
- Orphan detection flags posters for content you no longer have, turning library cleanup into a one-click job.
- Pairs cleanly with Kometa. Flip a toggle and Posteria removes the overlay label when a poster changes, letting Kometa re-apply overlays on its next run.
Product Highlights
A fast, fuzzy search jumps you straight to the movie or show you want to re-poster, even across libraries with tens of thousands of items.
The built-in Poster Wall gives you a mosaic view of every piece of artwork you've curated. Good for sharing on socials, good for reminding yourself which films you actually own.
Uploads support JPG, JPEG, PNG, and WebP with a generous size ceiling and a preview before you commit. No image-converter detour before you can swap a poster.
Install Posteria as a Progressive Web App and pin it to your home screen. Managing artwork from the couch with a phone is the whole point.
Orphan poster detection knows which files no longer match anything in Plex, so tidying up after library churn is obvious instead of archaeological.

Frequently Asked Questions
Will Posteria overwrite the posters I already have in Plex?
Only when you tell it to. The first-time import pulls your existing posters into Posteria so you can see what you're working with. Changes only go back to Plex when you save one from the Posteria UI.
I use Kometa. Will Posteria and Kometa step on each other?
No. Posteria can automatically remove Kometa's "Overlay" label when you save a new poster, which lets Kometa re-apply its overlays on the next run. Flip the toggle in the env and the two play nicely together.
Does Posteria back up my posters?
Yes. Your poster files live on the same managed storage as your other ElfHosted apps and get snapshotted on a regular schedule.
Can I bulk update posters?
Posteria's Auto Import picks up new content on a schedule and pulls fresh artwork for you. For one-off bulk swaps, a search-driven workflow through the Movies, Shows, Seasons, or Collections tabs beats a batch tool for curation.
What Plex plan do I need?
Any Plex plan that lets you modify metadata. Posteria talks to Plex with a standard auth token.
Does it work with Jellyfin or Emby?
Not today. Posteria is Plex-specific. Jellyfin and Emby users should look at artwork managers that speak those APIs.
Posteria turns the most tedious part of running a Plex library (wrangling posters one metadata refresh at a time) into a five-minute browse-and-click job, backed up and pre-wired into your cluster from the moment it spins up.
Try Posteria on ElfHosted with a 7-day trial and give your Plex library the glow-up it deserves.
