Speaking of recent feedback (in our quest to build a tribe of raging fans), we've recently reviewed the pricing of the custom domains, as well as BYO storage mounts.

Both custom domains and storage mounts were priced as $9/month "simple apps" per our pricing structure in July 2024.

We did this because the previous arrangement (they were free) was troublesome - new users would recklessly misconfigure domains or (worse!) storage mounts, and require human intervention in the form of a support case. (Technically, $0/month also means that the store will never attempt to renew a subscription, and we end up with abandoned "ghost" subscriptions consuming resources)

Since the July repricing, there has been minimal interest in both custom domains and storage mounts. Now that our bundles and tiered discounts are stabilized and well-understood, we've added a "non-apps" tier, at $1/month.

So, the following categories of products in the store are now charged at a token $1/month:

  1. Custom domains (from $9/month) - Access your apps on your own domain name
  2. Storage mounts (from $9/month) - Mount your external cloud storage
  3. Exposed apps (from $0/month) - Expose supported apps without SSO for mobile apps (like NZB360)

Existing subscriptions will be unaffected, so if you're on an exposed app and would rather not pay $1/month, you don't need to do anything. On the other hand, if you've got a custom domain name or storage mount, feel free to cancel and recreate it under the new model ❤️ (no refunds, but you'll get the new pricing, going forward)
