It's been a quiet few weeks over the Christmas holidays, some of our team (and the Riven devs!) are still away, but there are a few new updates coming through the pipeline, and today's new app is... StremThru.
(Not a Stremio user? Don't like the idea of your streaming activity being recorded outside of your control? Check out Flixio, more details coming soon!)
While initially a bit hard to understand, StremThru is not a Stremio Addon, but it makes Stremio Addons that much better. How?
Think of StremThru as a multi-tool. It's a collection of tools / APIs which add new functionality to Stremio. Notably, using StremThru, you can apply the prized "proxystreaming" support of Comet and MediaFusion to other addons (to avoid RD account bans for multi-device usage). For example, with StremThru, you can proxy-stream from TorrentIO!
StremThru can also "wrap" other addons, so that you can add debrid support to addons without it (for example, add offcloud support to a torrent-only addon!)
A public StremThru instance was implemented over the past few days to restore Comet back to (partial) RD/AD/DL service, and has now been added to our big bundle of Stremio addons. Over time, the public instance will build up a database of cached hashes, which will further improve the results available to all other ElfHosted Comet instances!
StremThru uses unfamiliar nomenclature, but you'll find detailed documentation and examples here.
