Koito sits behind whatever you play music with and quietly records every track. What comes out the other side is your listening life as data: top artists, top albums, hours listened, and a history you can scroll back through as far as it goes.

What you get

• Works with what you already use. Koito speaks the ListenBrainz API, so anything that can scrobble to ListenBrainz can scrobble here instead. Navidrome, most Android and iOS music players, and the desktop bridges people use for Spotify and Apple Music all work without knowing Koito exists.
• Your history comes with you. Imports from Spotify, Last.fm, ListenBrainz and Maloja, so you start with your real history rather than an empty page.
• Try it without committing. Koito can relay everything it receives on to Last.fm or ListenBrainz, so you can run it for months alongside your current scrobbler and lose nothing if you change your mind.
• Charts worth looking at. Top artists, albums and tracks over any period, with a genuinely good-looking interface and themes to match.
• Album art from your own library. Point Koito at your Navidrome instance and it pulls covers from there rather than the internet.

Pairs well with

Add Navidrome to stream your own music collection, and Lidarr to keep it growing. Everything runs on the same storage, so wiring Koito up is two environment variables and an API key.

Koito or Maloja?

Both record the same thing. Koito is the newer of the two, is faster once your history gets large, and looks considerably better. Maloja is the steadier one, speaks more scrobble dialects, and gives you far more control over cleaning up messy metadata. Both import from the other, so the choice is not permanent.
