Early Access
This app is a brand-new addition to ElfHosted, and is considered beta. It runs, we test it, and your trial lets you prove it fits before you commit, but our support team does not yet have deep experience with it. Expect some trial and error: lean on the upstream documentation, experiment freely, and share what you learn in Discord, where the community and team are figuring these new apps out together. If you need a battle-tested workflow today, our established apps are the safer pick.
What is Memos?
Memos is an open-source note-taking app built for quick capture. Open it, type the thought, save. Each memo is written in Markdown and lands on a timeline you can scroll, search and filter by tag, so the idea you had on Tuesday is still findable next month. Think of it as a private microblog rather than a filing cabinet.
Key Features
- Markdown memos: Headings, code blocks, links and checklists, straight from the capture box.
- Tags: Add #tags as you type, then filter the timeline down to one topic.
- Task lists: Tick off checklist items right on the timeline.
- Attachments: Keep images and files with the memo they belong to.
- Search and calendar: Find a memo by its text, or jump to a day from the activity calendar.
- Pin and archive: Keep the important memos on top and tidy the finished ones away.
Why Run Memos on ElfHosted?
A notes app is only useful if it opens every time you reach for it. ElfHosted keeps Memos online, so the note you wrote on your phone is waiting on your laptop.
- Managed and maintained: Your instance is provisioned in minutes, kept updated, and backed by friendly humans on Discord.
- One dashboard: Sits alongside the rest of your ElfHosted subscription, no servers to run yourself.
- Persistent and backed up: Your data survives restarts and upgrades, with a daily backup.
- Simple subscription: One flat monthly price with a 7-day trial, cancel anytime.
Frequently Asked Questions
How do I log in?
Memos sits behind your ElfHosted login. On your first visit, create your Memos account in the app: the first account becomes the admin.
Can I use it on my phone?
Yes, in your phone's browser. Apps and tools that connect to Memos with an access token can't reach it in this version, because your instance sits behind your ElfHosted login.
Who can see my memos?
Your instance sits behind your ElfHosted login, so your memos stay with you.
