This app is a brand-new addition to ElfHosted, and is considered beta. It runs, we test it, and your trial lets you prove it fits before you commit, but our support team does not yet have deep experience with it. Expect some trial and error: lean on the upstream documentation, experiment freely, and share what you learn in Discord, where the community and team are figuring these new apps out together. If you need a battle-tested workflow today, our established apps are the safer pick.
What is Wishlist?
Wishlist is a shareable list of the things you would actually like to receive, built for birthdays, holidays, weddings, and every gift-giving occasion where "what do you want?" gets a shrug. Add items with a link, a price, and a note, and share the list so friends and family can browse it and claim an item, with claims hidden from you so the surprise survives.
Key Features
- Shareable lists: Send family a link to your list, no account required to view a shared list or registry.
- Claim without spoiling: Visitors claim items to avoid duplicate gifts, and claims stay hidden from the list owner.
- Rich items: Paste a product link and Wishlist pulls in the title, image, and price.
- Registry mode: Turn a list into a public registry that anyone can view and claim from, no login.
- Household of lists: Invite family members so everyone has their own list under one instance.
Works With
- HomeBox: Track what you own alongside what you wish for.
- Donetick: Pair gift planning with shared household tasks.
Why Run Wishlist on ElfHosted?

- Managed and maintained: Your instance is provisioned in minutes, kept updated, and backed by friendly humans on Discord.
- One dashboard: Sits alongside the rest of your ElfHosted subscription, no servers to run yourself.
- Persistent and backed up: Your data survives restarts and upgrades.
- Simple subscription: One flat monthly price with a 7-day trial, cancel anytime.
Frequently Asked Questions
How do I set up Wishlist?
On first visit you sign in with your ElfHosted account to complete the setup wizard and create your admin account, this stops anyone else claiming the admin. From there you build your lists.
How do family members join?
Share a public list or registry link, which opens with no login. To give someone their own list, invite them with a personal invite link from the admin settings. New-user signup is invite-only by default.
Will people see who claimed a gift?
No, claims are hidden from the list owner so the surprise is preserved.
