What is SuggestArr?

SuggestArr analyses your existing Plex, Jellyfin, or Emby library, queries TMDb for similar titles you don't already have, and automatically submits them as requests to Overseerr or Jellyseerr. The result is a self-filling library that gets smarter about your taste over time.

SuggestArr in Your Media Ecosystem

SuggestArr sits between your media server and your request manager. It reads your Plex or Jellyfin library, generates a recommendations batch from TMDb, and pushes them through Overseerr → Radarr / Sonarr → your storage. Add Pulsarr for Trakt-based recommendations as a complementary source.

Why ElfHosted?

SuggestArr needs to run on a schedule and make authenticated API calls to multiple services simultaneously. Coordinating those credentials across a home server setup, and keeping the schedule alive after reboots, is fiddly. ElfHosted runs SuggestArr as a persistent service alongside your other *arr apps so recommendations flow automatically without intervention.

Will it flood Overseerr with hundreds of requests at once?
No. SuggestArr has configurable batch limits so you control how many requests are submitted per run.

Does it learn from rejected recommendations?
Yes. Titles you decline are tracked and excluded from future recommendation batches.

Is AI included?
Yes. AI Search and the AI-powered recommendations run on an ElfHosted model with an allowance included in your plan, so there is no API key to find. Prefer your own OpenAI, OpenRouter or local Ollama? Add it in SuggestArr's Advanced settings and yours always wins.
