Your own sync backend for the Nuvio apps, so your profiles, library and watch history live on and fully under your control.
Hosted Mellon: the backend your Nuvio apps sync to, running on your own instance.
Early Access
Mellon is new, and it is offered as an early-access product. Expect some trial and error, and expect our support team to have thinner coverage on it than on our longer-running apps. The documentation is the first place to look, and our Discord is the second.
Meet Your Mellon
Nuvio is a media app for phones, tablets, desktops and TVs. It keeps your profiles, your library, how far you got through each episode, and the list of addons you use, on a backend somewhere, so every device you sign in from sees the same thing.
Mellon is that backend, on your instance. Sign your apps into it and the account is yours. What you watch, what you save and which addons you run stay in your own deployment.
It speaks the protocol the apps already expect, so nothing needs patching or rebuilding. You change one setting in the app and it points at your server instead.
Why Mellon Makes Life Easier
- Your viewing history and library belong to an account only you hold
- Every device stays in step, from the phone on the train to the TV in the lounge
- Addons and plugins are managed from a browser rather than typed on a TV remote
- Already have a Nuvio account? Move it across in one go, addons and all
- Already have Stremio addons? Bring those across too, without retyping a single URL
Product Highlights
A one-page importer moves an existing Nuvio account onto your server: profiles, addons, library, collections and watch progress, with your debrid and metadata keys copied across if you want them.
Addon and plugin management from any browser, per profile, with reordering and an on/off switch for each. There is also a Stremio importer, which signs in to Stremio from your browser and offers you a checklist of what to bring over.
Profile management for up to six people, each with their own name, colour or face, and each keeping their own addons, library and watch progress.
A device page showing everything signed in to your server, with a button to sign out any of them, or all of them but the one you are using.
A viewing page of your own: hours and finishes per profile, what you keep coming back to, which addon supplied each thing you saved, and the shows you abandoned three episodes in.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does Mellon stream or play anything?
No. It stores profiles, library, watch progress and your addon list. The playing is done by your apps and the addons you install.
Is this the same as Nuvio's own backend?
No, and we are not affiliated with the Nuvio project. Mellon is our own backend that the Nuvio apps can talk to, built to the protocol they already use.
My app has no option to change server. What now?
You installed from the Play Store or the App Store, and those builds have the ability compiled out. Install the full build from the Nuvio project instead. Desktop, Android TV and the sideloaded builds are all fine.
Can I move my existing Nuvio account across?
Yes, and it takes one page. Do it before you sign in on your devices and there is nothing left to set up afterwards.
Will my Stremio addons come over?
Yes, from a checklist. That sign-in happens between your browser and Stremio, so your Stremio password never reaches your server.
Can you see what I watch?
The viewing page is computed on your instance, from your own account. There is no version of it that reports across accounts, and we do not offer to look at it for you.
Mellon puts the account behind your Nuvio apps on hardware you are already paying for, with nothing about your viewing kept anywhere else.
