Managed Watcharr hosting for tracking every movie, show, and anime you watch, on your own private instance.
Hosted Watcharr: managed watched-list tracking for people who want their viewing history off the public trackers and on their own turf.
Early Access
This app is a brand-new addition to ElfHosted, and is considered beta. It runs, we test it, and your trial lets you prove it fits before you commit, but our support team does not yet have deep experience with it. Expect some trial and error: lean on the upstream documentation, experiment freely, and share what you learn in Discord, where the community and team are figuring these new apps out together. If you need a battle-tested workflow today, our established apps are the safer pick.
What is Watcharr?
Watcharr is your personal watched list: track the movies, TV shows, and anime you have watched, are watching, or plan to watch. Rate them, jot down thoughts, and browse a discover page for what to queue up next. With a little extra configuration it can track your video games too.
Think of it as a private, ad-free alternative to public tracking sites: your ratings and viewing history live on your own instance, and multiple users each get their own list. It ships working out of the box, with a bundled TMDB key for metadata.
Key Features
- Watched, watching, planned: Full watch-status tracking for movies, shows, and anime, with ratings and personal notes.
- Import your history: Pull years of viewing history from Plex or Jellyfin, or import exports from Trakt, TMDB, and MyAnimeList.
- Discover page: Browse trending and recommended titles to decide what is next.
- Radarr and Sonarr requests: Hook up your *arr apps and request shows and movies straight from Watcharr's detail pages.
- Multi-user: Everyone in the household gets their own account, list, and ratings.
- Works immediately: Bundled metadata access means no API-key homework before your first entry.
Watcharr in Your Stack
Watcharr slots in as the memory of your media setup: sign in with Plex or Jellyfin to import what you have already watched, then connect Radarr and Sonarr so a "want to watch" entry can become a library request in one click. It pairs naturally with any ElfHosted media server subscription.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does Watcharr include any movies or shows?
No. Watcharr is a tracker: it records what you watch and helps you decide what is next. Playback happens in your media server or wherever you normally watch.
How do I log in?
Watcharr manages its own accounts, and the first account registered on a fresh instance becomes the admin. Register as soon as your instance provisions, then disable open signups (or invite friends) under Server Settings.
Can I import my existing watch history?
Yes. Import from Plex or Jellyfin directly, or upload exports from Trakt, TMDB, and MyAnimeList. Nobody rebuilds ten years of history by hand.
Can other people use my instance?
Yes. Watcharr is multi-user: each person gets their own list, ratings, and history.
