This app is a brand-new addition to ElfHosted, and is considered beta. It runs, we test it, and your trial lets you prove it fits before you commit, but our support team does not yet have deep experience with it. Expect some trial and error: lean on the upstream documentation, experiment freely, and share what you learn in Discord, where the community and team are figuring these new apps out together. What is Kan?

Kan is a Kanban board that stays out of the way. Lists across the page, cards you drag between them, labels and members for the ones that need sorting, and comments for the arguing. If you are coming from Trello there is an importer, so you do not have to retype a year of cards.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I log in?
Kan sits behind your ElfHosted login, and then asks you to create an account of its own with an email address and password. Sign-up stays open behind that ElfHosted login, so you can add people who have access to your instance, and nobody outside it can register.

Can I share a board publicly?
Not in this version. Kan can publish a read-only board, but your instance sits behind your ElfHosted login, so someone without an account cannot open it.

Can I attach files to a card?
Not in this version. Kan stores attachments in external S3 storage, which is not wired up here, so uploads are switched off.

Does it send email?
Yes. Kan mail, such as board invitations, goes out through ElfHosted from an ElfHosted address.
