This app is a brand-new addition to ElfHosted, and is considered beta. It runs, we test it, and your trial lets you prove it fits before you commit, but our support team does not yet have deep experience with it. Expect some trial and error: lean on the upstream documentation, experiment freely, and share what you learn in Discord, where the community and team are figuring these new apps out together. What is MicroBin?

MicroBin is a tiny paste bin with a few useful extras bolted on. Paste text, attach a file, or shorten a link, then send the address to whoever needs it. A paste can expire on a timer, burn after one read, or be locked with a password, and every one of them comes with a QR code for getting it onto a phone.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I log in?
Creating a paste needs your ElfHosted login, and so does the list of your pastes, editing one, removing one, and the admin page. MicroBin has no user accounts of its own.

Can I share a paste with someone who has no ElfHosted account?
Yes, and that is the point. The links you hand out (the paste page, the raw view, a file download, a shortened URL, a QR code) open for anyone who has them, no login asked. Treat a paste link as public, and use the password option or a short expiry for anything you would not want passed on.

What about the default admin password?
MicroBin ships with a well-known one upstream. Your instance is given a password of its own instead, and the admin page also sits behind your ElfHosted login, so it is not reachable from outside.

How big can a file be?
10 MB per upload, encrypted or not.
