Early Access
This app is a brand-new addition to ElfHosted, and is considered beta. It runs, we test it, and your trial lets you prove it fits before you commit, but our support team does not yet have deep experience with it. Expect some trial and error: lean on the upstream documentation, experiment freely, and share what you learn in Discord, where the community and team are figuring these new apps out together. If you need a battle-tested workflow today, our established apps are the safer pick.
What is TREK?
TREK is an open-source trip planner built for planning with other people. Lay out each day on a map, keep bookings and documents with the trip, split costs, tick off the packing list, and write up the journey afterwards. ElfHosted runs the unmodified upstream TREK release; ElfHosted is not affiliated with or endorsed by the TREK project.
Key Features
- Day-by-day itineraries: Places, routes and times on an interactive map.
- Budgets and expense splitting: Know what the trip costs and who owes whom.
- Packing lists: Shared checklists so nobody forgets the charger.
- Documents and journals: Keep bookings with the trip and record the story as it happens.
- Calendar feeds and share links: Put the itinerary in your calendar and share a read-only view.
- Installable app: Add it to your phone's home screen, with offline support for the trip itself.
Why Run TREK on ElfHosted?
A trip plan is only useful if it is there when you land. ElfHosted keeps your TREK instance online and backed up.
- Managed and maintained: Your instance is provisioned in minutes, kept updated, and backed by friendly humans on Discord.
- One dashboard: Sits alongside the rest of your ElfHosted subscription, no servers to run yourself.
- Persistent and backed up: Your data survives restarts and upgrades.
- Simple subscription: One flat monthly price with a 7-day trial, cancel anytime.
Frequently Asked Questions
How do I log in?
TREK sits behind your ElfHosted login. Your first TREK login is your ElfHosted account email with the password changemeelfie, and TREK asks you to change it straight away.
Can I share a trip with people who do not have an ElfHosted account?
Yes, with a share link. Anyone with the link can view the shared trip. Collaborators who edit the trip sign in through your ElfHosted login.
Is this the official TREK?
It is the unmodified TREK release, run for you by ElfHosted. ElfHosted is not the TREK project.
