Zurgling – Personal Media Streamer [2xHD / 1x4K, contended, manual]
$24.00 / month with a 7-day free trial and a $1.00 sign-up fee
Own your library, don’t rent it from a debrid cache.
Zurgling is a hosted Zurg service paired with your choice of Plex, Jellyfin, or Emby. Connect your RealDebrid account, curate with Debrid Media Manager (DMM), and stream a real library you control — not a virtual one that vanishes when an addon goes dark. 2xHD or 1x4K on contended hardware. Bring your own RealDebrid subscription.
The library you actually own. Zurgling turns your debrid downloads into a real Plex/Jellyfin/Emby library you curate yourself — no virtual catalogue, no AIOStreams dependency, no surprise emptiness when the upstream blinks.
What is Zurgling?
Zurgling is a hosted Zurg service paired with your choice of Plex, Jellyfin, or Emby. Zurg connects to your RealDebrid account and exposes the content you've downloaded as a real, browseable filesystem — your media server then scans it as a normal library.
Pair Zurgling with Debrid Media Manager (DMM) to curate, organise, and prune what's in your RealDebrid account. Zurgling reflects those changes into your library automatically.
You bring the RealDebrid subscription. We run the rest.
Key Features
- 📁 Real library, not virtual: Zurg mounts your debrid downloads as files; Plex/Jellyfin/Emby scan them like any other library.
- 🧰 DMM-friendly: use Debrid Media Manager to curate your RealDebrid library and Zurgling picks up the changes.
- 🎬 Pick your media server: Plex, Jellyfin, or Emby — all supported.
- 🔌 Bring your own RealDebrid: Zurgling connects directly to your RD account.
- 📺 2xHD or 1x4K streams on contended hardware, 125Mbps.
- 🔄 Wizarr + Cinesync included for sharing and library sync with friends.
Zurgling vs Jellygoblin
Both are entry-level personal streamers at $24/mo. The difference is library philosophy:
- Zurgling — you own the library. Manual curation via DMM. Your debrid account, your downloads, your choices.
- Jellygoblin — virtual library that builds itself from AIOStreams. Type a title, get the movie, no curation needed.
Pick Zurgling if you want a library that persists when the rest of the streaming ecosystem changes underneath you.
Why Run Zurg on ElfHosted?
Self-hosting Zurg yourself means dealing with rclone mounts, fuse permissions, container networking, and keeping the WebDAV layer happy across reboots. Plex's scanner has its own opinions about mounted filesystems, and adding DMM plus a media server to the mix multiplies the failure modes.
- No rclone or fuse to configure — Zurg's mount works out of the box.
- No "library can't see my files" debugging after a reboot.
- Plex/Jellyfin/Emby pre-tuned for Zurg's mount semantics so library scans don't time out.
- Updates to Zurg and your media server handled by ElfHosted, not you.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does Zurgling include a RealDebrid subscription?
No. Zurgling is the streaming infrastructure. You bring your own RealDebrid account.
Does Zurgling work with other debrid services?
No. Zurgling currently supports RealDebrid only. If you use AllDebrid, Premiumize, or TorBox, look at our other personal-streamer tiers.
Is Debrid Media Manager (DMM) included?
No. DMM is a standalone open-source web app maintained outside ElfHosted — it's not bundled with Zurgling and we don't host it. You use DMM directly to curate your RealDebrid library, and Zurgling reflects those changes into your media server.
What's the difference between Zurgling and Jellygoblin?
Zurgling builds a real library from what you've actually downloaded to your RealDebrid account. Jellygoblin builds a virtual library that pulls anything AIOStreams can find. Same price, different philosophy.
Can I switch media servers later?
You pick one (Plex, Jellyfin, or Emby) when you provision. Switching is supported but requires reprovisioning the media server side. The Zurg mount stays.
Why is the hardware contended?
Zurgling is the entry tier — hardware is shared with other Zurglings on the same node. Most users don't notice; if you need guaranteed performance, look at Hobbit or Halfling.
Zurgling is the personal media stack for people who want to own their library, not rent it from a debrid cache. Bring your debrid account, pick your media server, curate with DMM, and let ElfHosted handle the rest.
