This app is a brand-new addition to ElfHosted, and is considered beta. It runs, we test it, and your trial lets you prove it fits before you commit, but our support team does not yet have deep experience with it. Expect some trial and error: lean on the upstream documentation, experiment freely, and share what you learn in Discord, where the community and team are figuring these new apps out together. If you need a battle-tested workflow today, our established apps are the safer pick.
What is IHateMoney?
IHateMoney is a shared budget and bill-splitting tool for the situations that quietly wreck friendships: the group holiday, the flatshare, the dinner where one person always covers the bill. Add each expense, note who paid and who it was for, and IHateMoney keeps a running tally of who owes whom, then works out the simplest set of repayments to square everyone up.

Frequently Asked Questions
How do I log in and create a project?
Creating and managing projects is behind your ElfHosted login, so only you can set them up. Friends do not need an account, they open the project link and enter its code to view and add expenses.
Do my friends need an ElfHosted account?
No. Share the direct project link and its code, and anyone can add expenses without logging in. The public can only open projects they have the code for.
Does it send email invitations?
Email is not wired up by default (to keep a public instance from being used for spam). You can add your own SMTP provider if you want emailed invites, otherwise just share the link.
